Live Odds

In today’s post, we’re going to discuss the live odds for the FIFA World Cup 2018 and how best to navigate them.

When you think of the World Cup 2018, which is due to start days from now, you can’t help but think of all the betting sites placing odds on several outcomes to the tournament.

As an example, you could bet on the outright winner of the entire thing or who’s likely to in the Golden Boot (top scorer) award, which country will be the most entertaining, etc. In short, there are plenty of ways you can bet on the World Cup.

But where do you start? Here are a few examples.

Bet on the Outright Winner

The most obvious bet you can make during the World Cup is on who will be the winner of the tournament. This is pretty precise and if you get it right you could get some money from it.

To be frank, though, it’s fraught with risk as the team you’re banking on could not only lose but drop out of the competition entirely. Saying that, however, we can give you numbers on all the current favourites.

It’s often the same every year the World Cup plays, but here are the odds on each favourite to win:

Be advised, however, that the odds may change depending on the circumstances. Like we said, any one of these five could drop out at any point during the competition.

TL;DR — You can bet on the outright winner for the World Cup 2018 via live odds.

Bet on the “Best of Continent” Team

While only a couple of team may reach the final, quarter or ever semi-finals, they all have the opportunity to be the best of their respective groups or continents regardless on their chances of winning.

For example, if you bet on any African team like Morocco or Nigeria, you can bet to see if they are the best team from Africa in the World Cup.

Generally, speaking, these teams rarely get to the final but that doesn’t always matter. Besides, it’s better to have the choice rather than just one thing to bet on.

TL;DR — Put your money on whatever team will be the best of their continent or group.

Bet on the Continent of Winner

If you want a mixture of the above categories, you could bet on what the continent of the winner will be. It would either be Europe or Argentina although, of course, this bet becomes obsolete if both teams are from the same continent in the final.

In any case, here’s the odds for each continent:

  • Europe: 4/11
  • South America: 21/10
  • Rest of the World: 33/1

Again, depending on how the World Cup plays out, we think that these odds won’t stay fixed so make sure you are as close as possible to the deadline.

TL;DR — You can bet on whatever continent the winner happens to hail from!
