Belgium Squad
Belgium squad in 2018 World Cup consists of more than a few internationally distinguished footballers. The team looks very strong, at least on paper. Can their reputation stand firm in Russia this summer, though?
If they perform as well as it is expected of them, we wouldn’t be surprised if they went as far as to win the tournament. It’s something that the third best national football team in the world can easily pull off.
Belgium Squad 2018 World Cup
Belgium is managed by the head coach Roberto Martinez since 2016. Their players selected for the Cup are as follows.
- Goalkeepers: Thibaut Courtois, Koen Casteels, Simon Mignolet.
- Defenders: Toby Alderweireld, Dedryck Boyata, Vincent Kompany, Thomas Meunier, Thomas Vermaelen, Jan Vertonghen.
- Midfielders: Yannick Carrasco, Kevin de Bruyne, Mousa Dembele, Leander Dendoncker, Marouane Fellaini, Eden Hazard, Thorgan Hazard, Adnan Januzaj, Dries Mertens, Youri Tielemans, Axel Witsel.
- Forwards: Michy Batshuayi, Nacer Chadli, Romelu Lukaku.
The squad’s strength lies in the midfield, though they also have great forward potential and good defenders too. Belgium was the most scoring team in the qualifiers with 43 goals and less than ten conceded. However, if they lose the middle, they’ll probably concede more.
Belgium squad looks impressive enough to advance in the World Cup 2018.
