American vs. European

Though a primitive version of the famous wheel-spinning game was created back in the early 1600s by a French mathematician, roulette first properly came on the scene in a form familiar to a Mobile Roulettemodern audience in the 18th century. The European version of roulette is widely considered as the ‘original’, whereas the American version that’s played in most US casinos was created about 100 years later.

The main difference between these two extremely popular games is in the 0s, which are located in the green squares at the side of the board. In American Roulette there are two squares – one with a single 0 on and one with a double 0. On the other hand the European version only has one 0.  The European board also has areas where you can place additional bets based on how many numbers appear on the wheel.

But how exactly do these differences benefit players?

According to gambling experts, the extra green square in American Roulette gives players more betting options, which can add to the excitement of the game. However, the European version has slightly better odds of winning due to the reduced amount of choice. Tactically, it’s always best to give both games a trial run before settling on one game, as each version has its own strengths for certain types of players.
