Iceland Squad

Iceland will be competing in their first ever World Cup in Russia. Iceland performed remarkably well two years ago at the European Championships in France and their run at that tournament included a victory over England in the knockout stages.

If they have a similar run at the World Cup it would be an even greater achievement. Iceland have been drawn in this tournament’s ‘group of death’ alongside Croatia, Nigeria and Argentina.

It is a tough group, but it could definitely have been worse for Iceland. Really, Iceland have nothing to lose in Russia and we wouldn’t be surprised if they managed to progress from Group D along with Argentina.
