Sweden Squad
Sweden head into the 21st World Cup after an impressive play-off win over four-time World Cup winners, Italy. Sweden have played in a number of World Cups, though they didn’t qualify for the previous two tournaments. Sweden finished as runners-up way back in 1958, and also finished third in 1950 and 1994.
They have been drawn in Group F with holders Germany, Mexico and South Korea. Can Sweden progress to the knockout stages? They definitely have a chance in our book, though Germany and Mexico are the favourites to go through from Group F.

Long gone are the days of Martin Dahlin, Henrik Larsson and co. This Sweden squad is definitely not at the level of the Sweden teams of the previous 2-3 decades. One notable absentee is Zlatan Ibrahimović, though this was expected. Sweden begin their World Cup journey on the 18th June against South Korea.
