A crack team of South Korean researchers have created a fabric and glass-made gadget that produces a power supply using air temperature and human skin.

Thermo Material The device generates thermoelectric power from the difference in temperate between the atmosphere and human body heat by converting the thermo-energy into electric energy.

The Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology University and its researchers claim the device will be more than suitable for charging and recharging a plethora of wearable technology including heart-monitors and smart glasses.

In From The Cold, Technology Advancement Hots Up

This technology could potentially offer new options for devices with heavy power drainage needing regular charging periods. As technology has advanced over the years, all these wonderful inventions fall short in regards to user experience, as users are mindful of running out of power without immediate access to plug sockets. The device itself will pump out around 40 milliwatts of electric power if exposed to a temperature difference of around 0.5 degrees centigrade.

desk2The new innovation will be light-weight, flexible and comfortable for the wearer. Tests on the material have shown it can be very flexible without loss of performance, and designers have been working on ways to ensure practicality and efficiency.
