The game costs just £1.99, £1 of which will go directly to Help for Heroes Trading which Gift Aids its taxable profits to Help for Heroes. The game was designed specifically for fundraising, and was created free of charge by Supersonic Software and AppyNation who were funded through a grant by the University of Abertay.

Help for Heroes hopes it will be the fastest selling charity game on the app store, and that it will raise awareness for the charity among a younger generation.

 Mobile games with social activism

An increasing amount of mobile games offer players the chance to have fun and participate in social activism at the same time. Another recent project is SideKick Cycle, where every 387 downloads, World Bicycle Relief will donate one bicycle to a child in an impoverished community.

At this year’s Social Good Summit, Tumblr’s director of outreach Liba Rubenstein advocated ‘clicktivism’, many other attendees of the conference claiming that it’s an excellent way to reach out to younger people and raise awareness of good causes.Fortune Frenzy equally promotes responsible gambling, with the opportunity of self-exclusion, daily and also weekly deposit limits.
