Middlesbrough College Trains Casino Croupiers in New Course

Middlesbrough college announces the launch of its brand new course training hopefuls in the art of the casino croupier.

The educational establishment in Teeside is the fourth college in the country to be offering students the chance to learn the intricacies of the industry, from how to deal Blackjack to spotting problem gamblers.

The course aims to help people break into the industry, and teach them the rules of the various games, how to calculate the odds and how to manage gaming tables. Many people in the area are hoping to get jobs at the newest casino whose license has already been granted from the Middlesbrough council.

A wide range of topics are addressed in the NVQ Level Two Gambling Operations course. The programme teaches health and safety, identification of problem gamblers, the protection of children and customer service.

According to the latest Gambling Commission data the sector made £5.8 billion in 2011/12, and has been up consistently year on year since 2009. The course tutor Stephen Andrews, who has over twenty years within the industry, thinks the statistics reflects people’s growing interest in gambling as a widely accepted, thrilling hobby. He feels it’s a good industry to work in because it involves playing your favourite games and earning money from it.

These statistics can be seen equally within the mobile gambling sector as the market for these games ever increases. The roll out of a legitimate course at a respected educational institution presents the fact that gambling is being taken even more seriously. Not only do games such as Loopy Lotto and Roulette provide excitement, but they are acknowledged to be both advanced and challenging.
