The broadcaster and journalist Victoria Coren Mitchell wrote a new chapter in the history of poker on Easter Sunday by becoming the first two times winner of the European Poker Tour.
Professional Joker Player
Wiping the floor with 556 other hardened poker playing competitors, Victoria walked away with a whopping £391,932 in cash and a watch worth more than £4,000 in Sanremo, Italy.
Incredibly, her victory was far from guaranteed as she wallowed in 8th place right until the finale of the week-long international competition. Nevertheless, she has won before back in 2006 which made her the competitions first female winner. Her second win brings her total professional poker playing earnings up to about £1.5m, again making her one of the all-time top female earners of the game.
As she took breaks during the completion word is she called her husband, comedian David Mitchell to ask whether finishing 8th would be acceptable. However she rinsed 8th and surpassed even her own expectations by finishing head of the pack tweeting “I WON! I bloody WON!!!!!!”…as you see below.

Campione!
Well done we say and hopefully she can do it a third time! Just think what you could do with all that cash. Speaking of which, our in-play jackpots are constantly rising with big money to be won each and every day. So, don’t settle for 8th place, nail it like Victoria and come out tops!
