Ritz hotel

The wife of the Foreign Minister of Oman Nora Al-Daher has attempted to sue the Ritz Casino in London after betting £2 Million and losing it in one evening.

Mrs Al-Daher has had previous already suffering huge losses at other casino establishments during the same day in April 2012.

Previous incidents

Interestingly the court action taken against the Ritz comes after the Ritz had sued her for £1 Million claiming the cheques she prescribed that evening were not honoured.

The court had heard that Mrs Al-Daher had made it very clear that she was a gambling addict, was prone to losing money and refused to pay.

In defence

Her defence was that the casino took advantage of her and rather than stopping Mrs Al-Daher from losing more money and providing more credit they should have stopped her.

However in their defence the Ritz retorted stating that it was owed £1 Million because her cheques had bounced and that Mrs Al-Daher had paid half of her debt off before making a complaint.

Roger Maris, the Chief Executive of the Ritz claimed it was not very unusual for high-stake gamblers to expect their credit to extended.

The case continues.
