Android lollipop

As we’ve previously reported, Android L or Lollipop as it is known by now should have been launched first on Google’s flagship device, the Nexus 5, during the last couple of weeks.

However, delays in the new OS roll-out have been attributed to a possible software bug found in Lollipop’s new software build. The bug is or was reportedly related to a battery issue which saw a device running the new software drain of power extremely quickly especially when wi-fi was activated from the handset.

Issues quashed

Recently TechRadar wrote about the bug issue confirming, thankfully, that the said bug had been firmly squashed by Google engineers – so that’s great news.

Now that the bug has been eliminated a series of leaked screen shots have been discovered on Poland’s Life’s Good blog seemingly showing pictures of LG’s flagship handset, the G3, running the new Android Lollipop software.

The blog reports that the new OS improves the handsets speed (which is one of the primary functions it was designed for) and also delivers a beautiful, fresh aesthetic to the whole user experience which is great news for all Android users.

As expected, the update seems to deliver a huge plethora of improvements and enhancements with key attributes being both an increase in operation speed and battery life. Now that the bug has been exterminated the later will hopefully be realised too.

With these new screen shots posted up for all the world to see we here at Fortune Frenzy believe we’ll see the new update sooner rather than later. However, as with any Android software update and incremental roll-out to users across the globe when we’ll receive the update exactly is anyone’s guess.

Nevertheless the fabulous ladies and gents at TechRadar have prepared an excellent post detailing the probable arrival of the new software to your specific device. Well worth a look at.

As always we will keep you up to date with technology news as it breaks and don’t forget to join in on the conversation as well as follow us on Twitter and Facebook for all things Fortune Frenzy!
