With mobile-gamings market share  set to increase substantially over the next three quarters of the year and revenue expected to reach a staggering $12 Billion in 2014 many hope to jump on board this lucrative niche.

One major software developer is already raking in $1 Billion dollars in revenues thanks to a rapid increase in mobile technology development.

Speaking at the E3 convention one analyst from San Francisco, pointed out that the video game can no longer claim to be the single province of the console thanks to cross platform hybridisation and more powerful handheld devices.

As well as the huge challenge represented by mobile-gaming, traditional console makers Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony also face other challenges in the pursuit of video game dominance from online gaming services such as the World of Warcraft franchise and wargaming.net who power the massively popular World of Tanks series.

Game Changing

Traditional game developers and gaming platforms also suffer from a lack of instant consumer feedback unlike modern developers and publishers who can receive comments and reviews on their product in real-time via their respective app store giving those developers an distinct edge.

Mob GamingNevertheless, even with all these mind blowing stats on mobile-gaming continual rise, consoles still remain the preferred platform of choice for gaming with the average age of a gamer being 31 years old in a survey conducted by the Entertainment Software Association.

As well as these findings EA Studios Boss Patrick Söderlund also believes that the console is a distinctively different market to that of mobile stating that both will co-exist because gamers will generally want the full experience that a console can bring, something mobile cant fulfil and probably will never be able to.
